I believe that our thoughts have so much power over who we are and where we are in life, and changing a person’s thoughts can empower and promote an individual in all aspects of life. Two of my strengths are empathy and being an encourager, which helps me to connect to others. I am an EMDR Certified therapist and would like to work with those experiencing trauma of all ages. I have a special place in my heart for those suffering from grief, loss, and chronic disease. I was a Medical Assistant who worked with Oncology patients and saw the need for that population and their families to get counseling.
I am currently working under the supervision of a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and I utilize play interventions in my sessions. I do family therapy to incorporate play. I like to work with clients of all ages who have experienced trauma. I utilize sand tray therapy, expressive arts, and movement in sessions.
I work with children as young as 4, as well as teens, adults, and families. I have a heart for working with families experiencing ruptures in family attachment. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns, this can be an overwhelming process and my goal is to make this a positive experience.

Clinical focus:
I work with individuals of all ages and stages of life. I havexperience helping individuals with, mood disorders, Trauma, and relationship issues and extensive experience and passion for helping Neurodivergent individuals with ADHD.
Professional Experience:
I obtained both my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and my Master of Arts in Counseling from William Jessup University. Prior to being a therapist, I worked in group homes for children with severe emotional disturbances. I have done a lot of work with individuals of all ages who have been diagnosed with ADHD in addition to families who have children with an ADHD diagnosis. Having ADHD and raising three boys with ADHD I understand the unique challenges that this disorder can bring about. I also have experience working with fire survivors who lost their homes and loved ones from California wildfires, in addition to working alongside trauma victims to help them obtain a sense of balance in their lives.
Philosophy of Care:
I take a prescriptive approach and tailor treatment for each individual client. You can’t put mental health in a box and what works for one person may not work for someone else. I use Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Narrative Therapy and play therapy in my sessions in addition to several other modalities all blanketed in a person-centered approach. While I help individuals on their journey to better mental health, I also incorporate a systems approach that looks at the overall picture of what led to someone getting to where they are now.

The heart of who I am in the counseling room can be ascribed to existential, gestalt, and systemic schools of thought. Life is hard, and for a lot of people, some anxiety is ever-present. I believe that the purpose of counseling is to help clients sit with the difficult parts of life in a safe space, build awareness, take responsibility, and exercise their freedom to make healthy choices. Awareness, in itself, is healing. It is important for me to help clients to honor lost and rejected aspects of themselves and to build awareness of somatic (body) experiences in order to facilitate their ability to independently self-regulate in the future. I think that dysfunction comes from unresolved, ignored issues and unintegrated parts of the self (some of which may stem from generational trauma). I believe that making contact with pain and trauma as it emerges, at the client’s pace, and reintegrating ignored/rejected parts of the self can help to deeply heal emotional pain and trauma. For me, my authentic relationship and ability to dialogue with my client are the most healing aspects of therapy.
